Honda Ridgeline Maintenance Schedule

2023 Honda Ridgeline driving on the street

A new vehicle is a big investment, and you want to keep it in top shape for as long as you can. Following the Honda Ridgeline maintenance schedule is one way to make sure your pickup truck delivers many years of service for light-duty tasks around Irvine, tailgating at an Angels game, or heading to your favorite Big Bear Lake camping spot for the weekend.

Keep reading to get all of the details of the Honda Ridgeline maintenance schedule. We’ll discuss when it will be time for a Honda Ridgeline transmission fluid change. We’ll also talk about the Ridgeline oil change as a vital part of your pickup’s regular service. If you need service before a long trip or if something seems off, schedule service with our team!

What Is the Honda Ridgeline Maintenance Schedule?

In general, your Honda Ridgeline maintenance schedule occurs every 5,000 to 7,000 miles. You’ll simply bring your pickup truck to our service center near Yorba Linda, and we’ll take care of you! We’ve got a comfy waiting area while we work on your vehicle.

Have you ever wondered about when your Honda Ridgeline transmission fluid change should occur? What about your Ridgeline oil change? We’ve got the details here:

  • Ridgeline Oil Change: Depending on the oil type for your exact model, a Ridgeline oil change should occur between 5,000 and 7,500 miles. Using full synthetic oil takes your oil change interval to 7,500 miles. If you drive in dusty conditions or very hot weather, you might need an oil change sooner.
  • Engine Air Filter/Dust & Pollen Filter: Replacing these filters happens every 15,000 miles. That’s two oil changes with full synthetic oil.
  • Engine Coolant: Your engine coolant should be drained every 45,000 miles. In addition, the system should be purged and flushed of all excess fluid, then refilled with fresh coolant. This will keep your radiator in top condition to avoid pesky overheating during scorching hot summers in Tustin.
  • Honda Ridgeline Transmission Fluid Change: You should flush your transmission and replace it with fresh fluid between 50,000 and 75,000 miles.
  • Brake Fluid: Hitting the 90,000-mile mark is a good time to replace the brake fluid on your Ridgeline. Brake fluid might have to be replaced sooner if you see dirt or debris in it.
  • Timing Belt: Expect to replace the timing belt every 105,000 miles. This belt makes sure your pistons work properly. The serpentine belt, which is a belt that runs certain accessories on your pickup truck, will likely need to be replaced every 50,000 miles or so.

Honda Ridgeline Oil Type & Capacity

It’s important to use the right oil type when you perform your Honda Ridgeline oil change. Make sure to get the right oil filter with an OEM part from our parts center.

  • Honda Ridgeline Oil Type: OEM 0W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil
  • Oil Capacity: After draining the oil and installing the new oil filter, refill the motor with 5.7 quarts of oil.

Don’t overfill the engine with more oil than what’s needed. It will increase the oil pressure and cause too much strain on the system.

Make sure to look over these systems every time you change the oil to see if they look secure.

  • Check your battery cables, and have the battery tested.
  • Check the PSI, and rotate your tires, which we can do for you.
