Fight Pediatric Brain Cancer with the McKenna Claire Foundation and Weir Canyon Honda

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The team at Weir Canyon Honda and other Wilson Automotive Dealerships are working hard to help raise funds for the McKenna Claire Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer. Created to honor Huntington Beach 7-year old McKenna Wetzel after she succumbed to a rare, inoperable brain stem tumor, the McKenna Claire Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer works to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research. With the help of our Irvine community members, we can help win this battle in the childhood cancer war.  

What Does the McKenna Claire Foundation Do?

Every year, over 27,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. That’s eleven kids per day, with an average age of six years old. Cancer is the top cause of death for children ages one through 14. Brain cancers like the type McKenna had are the deadliest. And yet, only a penny of every dollar donated to the American Cancer Society goes to childhood cancer research, while the National Cancer Institute only gives four percent of its budget to childhood cancer research. The McKenna Claire Foundation is a way for the Yorba Linda community to help raise funds for necessary childhood cancer research, and Weir Canyon Honda is here to help! 

How You Can Help the McKenna Claire Foundation with Weir Canyon Honda

During September, come to Weir Canyon Honda or any other Wilson Automotive Dealership and buy a butterfly! Whatever amount you choose to donate for your butterfly will not only be donated to the McKenna Claire Foundation, but Weir Canyon Honda will match all donations. We’re excited to fill our lobby with beautiful paper butterflies in honor of McKenna, and to show your generosity towards the Tustin community! Can’t make it into our dealership in September?
